Corazón de Cristo Medical Mission:

Esquintla, Guatemala

March 7-14, 2026

“Whatever you did for the least of my brothers, you did for me"

— Matthew 25:40

Our Mission

Corazón de Cristo Medical Mission serves families in impoverished communities in the rural areas of La Democracia and Escuintla, Guatemala by caring for their physical, spiritual, emotional, and material needs through healthcare, pastoral care services, mission work, and humanitarian aid. The missionaries want to love the poor as Jesus taught his disciples, "What you do to one of the least of these, you do to me."

In March 2026, we will be going to Esquinta, Guatemala for one week.  Working with a local Legionnaire priest, we will provide service to this poor community approximately 3 hours from Guatemala City.

“I will go anywhere and do anything in order to communicate the love of Jesus”

— St. Frances Cabrini

What we do

With your help, we seek to bring healing and hope to rural Guatemala.

We will bring medical professionals to provide healthcare and education to those most in need.

We believe in the dignity of every human life, and will work to improve their lives.

We will, through action and prayer, strive to show the love of Jesus to all.

What does our mission look like?

We respond to the call of Jesus by providing physical, spiritual and emotional material aid to the neediest rural communities in Guatemala. On each trip, we will serve 1,500 to 2,000 Guatemalans regardless of faith during a one-week mission trip.

We Provide:

Healthcare

Most of our staff are medical professionals.  We NEED doctors, dentists, pharmacists, nurses, and more.    We provide essential care, including exams, infectious and non-infectious disease treatment, injury care, diabetes care and education, medical advice, physicals and dental care.  While not equipped to do surgery, we will have a pharmacist and access to free medication for the most common diagnoses.

Pastoral Care

Catholic priests and spiritual directors offer prayer, guidance, and the Sacraments to those seeking spiritual support during our missions.

Mission Work

We work to serve the local Catholic community through aiding in church repairs, and helping local priests get to remote communities, and to bring spiritual support to those who request it but cannot travel to the Mission site.

Humanitarian Aid

We seek to improve the daily lives throughout these rural communities by distributing food and hygiene supplies.

By providing these services every year, we seek to improve the basic annual medical care that each member of the community receives, and to improve the understanding of the necessity of diet and hygiene in continuing healthcare

“Start by doing what is necessary, then do what’s possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible”
