Fr. Stephen Ellis, LC

Fr. Ellis serves as the Mission Director in addition to being a Mission Chaplain and pastoral care services lead for Corazón de Cristo Medical Mission. He was ordained a priest in the Legion of Christ on December 23, 2006. Has served on 5 medical missions to Guatemala. He currently lives in Detroit, Michigan in the Legionary community.

Greg Grazen

Greg Grazen is a passionate, lifelong Catholic and a Regnum Christi member since 1999. He holds an MS in Exercise Physiology & Cardiac Rehab and a BS in Health, Physical Education, and Athletic Training. Greg and his wife, Amy, cherish time with their three children and seven grandchildren. He is also a Life, Health & Wellbeing coach with experience in 30+ countries.

Liz Caldwell

Liz has 33 years of nursing experience, focusing on labor and delivery and pediatrics.  She is also a graduate of the Encounter School of Ministry, and an active member of Regnum Christi North Carolina.  Liz has been married to her husband Joe for 35 years and together they have raised five beautiful children.  

Dr. Christopher Rayala, MD

Dr. Christopher Rayala is a board-certified physician with clinical interests in internal medicine, weight loss, low carb diets, joint injections and mental health. He completed medical school at the University of the Philippines in Manila, Philippines, and his residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in Pittsburgh, PA.

Dr. Paul Kazmer, Jr. DMD, MS

Dr. Kazmer earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, located in Boston, MA. He is also a proud Tar Heel, as he earned his Master’s degree in Periodontics and Dental Implantology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been serving patients in Cary, North Carolina since 1999.

Kateri Manville, RN

Kateri Manville is a cardiac nurse in the WakeMed Heart Center.  A graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, Kateri is passionate about her Catholic faith and has always held a special place in her heart for mission trips.  She has mission experience in Jamaica, Honduras, and Guatemala.

Anne Marie Beaty

Anne Marie Beaty lives with her family just outside of Pinehurst, NC. She is a pharmacist of 26 years and is highly involved in several parish ministries including Sacristan, Regnum Christi, Welcome Retreat, Prison ministry, Book Club and Catechist. She just graduated from the Encounter School of Ministry and is eager to share the gospel as the Spirit inspires.

Fr. Brian Shininger, LC

Fr. Brian Shininger is a native of Defiance, Ohio.  After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University, he entered the Legionaries of Christ in 1994.  He completed his seminary studies at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, Italy and was ordained to the priesthood in 2005. He was engaged in seminary formation and administration in Connecticut and California until 2010, after which he spent two years in Mexico City as a spiritual director and chaplain for laity in the Regnum Christi Movement and assisted in retreats and missionary work. Upon returning to Cupertino, California in 2012, he was a hospital chaplain for six years and then helped direct inner healing retreats at Our Lady of Santa Clara Retreat Center and served as a chaplain for the ministry All Things Women. With a move to the Raleigh-Durham area in August, 2025, he is continuing his spiritual direction and chaplaincy ministries within Regnum Christi.
