  • Dr. Christopher Rayala, MD

    Dr. Christopher Rayala is a board-certified physician with clinical interests in internal medicine, weight loss, low carb diets, joint injections and mental health. He completed medical school at the University of the Philippines in Manila, Philippines. He then went on to complete his residency at University of Pittsburgh Medical Center (UPMC) in Pittsburgh, PA.

    Dr. Chris utilizes an evidence-based approach to patient care, injecting humor to explain medical concepts in a way that patients can easily understand.

    Dr. Chris serves as the Board Chair and medical team lead for Corazón de Cristo Medical Mission.

  • Fr. Stephen Ellis, LC

    Fr. Ellis serves as the Chaplain and pastoral care services lead for Corazón de Cristo Medical Mission.

    Ordained a priest in the Legion of Christ December 23, 2006. Has served on 4 medical missions to Guatemala. Currently lives in Detroit, Michigan in the Legionary community. 

  • Greg Grazen

    Greg Grazen, MS, a member of Regnum Christi since 1999, treasures time with his wife, Amy, their three children, and six grandchildren. A Life, Health & Wellbeing coach, he is passionate about Faith, family and helping people align purpose, energy, and performance with their call to Holiness. He has worked in 30+ countries, impacting thousands, with organizations including J&J, IBM, GSK, Chrysler, the USMC, Secret Service, and the Human Performance Institute. With a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology & Cardiac Rehab, a background in athletic training and fitness, and certifications in Positive Intelligence and Virtuous Leadership, Greg’s Catholic faith shapes a coaching philosophy helping individuals thrive, Spiritually, mentally, emotionally and physically.

  • Liz Caldwell

    Liz Caldwell

    Liz will be serving as Treasurer for Corazon de Cristo.  She has 33 years of nursing experience, focusing on labor and delivery and pediatrics.  She is also a graduate of the Encounter School of Ministry, and an active member of Regnum Christi North Carolina.  Liz has been married to her husband Joe for 35 years and together they have raised five beautiful children.  

  • Fr. Brian Shininger, LC

    Fr. Brian Shininger is a native of Defiance, Ohio.  After obtaining a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Bowling Green State University he entered the Legionaries of Christ in 1994.  He completed his seminary studies at the Pontifical Athenaeum Regina Apostolorum in Rome, Italy and was ordained to the priesthood in 2005. He was engaged in seminary formation and administration in Connecticut and California until 2010, after which he spent two years in Mexico City as a spiritual director and chaplain for laity in the Regnum Christi Movement and assisted in retreats and missionary work. Upon returning to Cupertino, California in 2012, he was a hospital chaplain for six years and then helped direct inner healing retreats at Our Lady of Santa Clara Retreat Center and served as a chaplain for the ministry All Things Women. With a move to the Raleigh-Durham area this past August he is continuing his spiritual direction and chaplaincy ministries within Regnum Christi.

  • Kateri Manville, RN

    Kateri Manville is a cardiac nurse at WakeMed in their Heart Center.  A graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville, Kateri is passionate about her Catholic faith and has always held a special place in her heart for mission trips.  Letting go of the busyness of everyday life and entering into the peace and service of missionary life is one of her greatest joys.  She has previously worked with the Missionaries of the Poor in Jamaica as well as with the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal in Honduras.   She feels so blessed and excited to serve on another trip.   Kateri serves as our nursing team lead for Corazon de Cristo Medical Mission.
